Are you feeling stuck in your life or in your business and not sure where to turn?
Oftentimes as women leaders, we have a lot of balls in the air and we feel overwhelmed and stressed out, or sometimes it feels like we're operating in a silo and we don't know where to turn.
We are fortunate in that we have been best friends for the last 25 years and business partners for the last 13 years. So, we have had each other’s back for ¼ of a century!
While this internal support system has been great, there have also been times in our business and life journey when we've had to turn to others for help – and we can honestly say we attribute a lot of our success to the coaches and mentors we have had along the way.
In fact, we’ve been so inspired by our mentors that it inspired us to start coaching other women on how to live BOLDLY and take action in the direction of her dreams. So if you’re wondering how a mentor can help you read on to learn 3 amazing benefits...
Do you want to feel healthy, fit and strong in your 40s and beyond?
Of course you do! We all desire to feel good in our bodies, be fit and strong and let our vivacious nature radiate from us! And often times we apply the age-old advice “exercise more, eat less” or we jump from latest craze to latest craze in hopes of finally finding the best exercise plan. Rather than feeling like our best selves we often end up feeling stressed, frustrated or stuck.
If you’re feeling like you’re in a rut or you're disappointed with your exercise routine . . .
Check out our 3 Exercise Tips for your 40s and Beyond
#1 – Incorporate Moderate Intensity Exercise – Gone are the back-to-back days of high intensity and long duration exercise. Research proves (and we have seen it in ourselves and our clients) that the “go hard or go home approach” can break us down and lead to burn out, aches and pain and even injuries. Try adding 1-2 days of lower impact...
So here we are... fresh off of Thanksgiving, and it is officially the busiest time of the year. And we are at that point when it's easy to let your own self-care - especially your healthy nutrition plan, take a back seat to everything else and get postponed until the New Year. Have you ever found yourself saying, "I'll start my diet in January?"
Well - on the whole we're not big fans of "diets" per se - rather we prefer that we all eat a good clean diet all year long - one that supports us, gives us energy and fuels our bodies to be the high performers we were meant to be.
And because we are all super busy and the holiday cheer is all around, we have to turn to life hacks and strategies to be successful. Today we are sharing one of our favorite life hacks - a nutrition reset tool that we absolutely LOVE!
It is called the 3-Day Refresh and it's a short little program that is VERY doable, and BONUS it packs a big punch. After the program you will have a better handle on your...
On Thursday many of us will sit around the table with family and friends eating, drinking, talking and making memories. It’s also the time of year when we reflect on all that we have to be grateful for, focus on what we do have and appreciate the beauty in life. Naturally we are all in the spirt of GRATITUDE.
But have you stopped to think about how you are embracing gratitude all year long? It’s natural to get excited and feel more grateful around the holiday but what about all those days, weeks, and months in between? How do we show up and learn to embrace the process and the journey of our lives and find gratitude in the day to day?
Here are 7 tips to get you started:
1. Embrace Joy – Imagine this… you had a good day. Maybe something amazing happened or maybe your day was simply absent of thrills. Essentially the day went your way – you finished your coffee while it was still hot, you cranked out your to-do list and you had lunch with a close...
Last week we touched on the importance of self-care – not only for ourselves but also for those we love and serve. However, knowing that self-care is important and doing something about it are two separate things - so, this week we are diving into WHAT you need to do to feel refreshed and excited for personal growth, and HOW to make it happen.
Putting a Self-Care Action Plan into Practice:
One of the biggest complaints we hear from busy, ambitious women is that they don’t have TIME for self-care. And our short rebuttal to that reasoning is this. Self-care is so vitally important to your sustained health and success that you must make time for it.
If time (or lack there of) is one of your road blocks, we suggest you do a quick “time-audit” and find areas of your life where you get caught up in time-sucks like scrolling social media, consuming too much world news, Netflix binges, or too many commitments to things...
Taking Care of Yourself So You Can Live Your Best Life:
We know you have heard the phrase self-care a lot lately, maybe even multiple times today, and it is something we believe so strongly in that we are going to continue saying it. But, let us explain why. First of all, what exactly do we mean by self-care and why is it such a buzz-worthy topic now?
Over the past few years the term “self-care” has been splashed across every media outlet there is, especially those targeting women, but prioritizing taking care of yourself before taking care of the rest of the world isn’t a new idea. The concept of self-care has a long history that has ties to race, gender, class and ultimately privilege. We can thank American feminist, writer Audre Lorde for bringing to light the fact that self-care is crucial to the health of ALL women and communities. Her famous quote from her book of essays A Burst of Light, “Caring for myself is not...
Ok so here I am tasked with writing a blog about procrastination…. And guess what… it is officially the 11th hour before we’d like to publish it and I’m just now getting organized. In fact, this little sticky note has been on the corner of my computer for about 2 weeks now.
So with that said, I may not be the “expert” when it comes to talking about how or why we procrastinate and what to do about it. But here’s my best assessment….
Procrastination is a time suck, a waste of energy and a major dream-killer. Before we talk about how to stop procrastinating let’s take a deep dive into why we even do it:
Fear of Failure – One sure fired way to never fail is to never start. We often put off taking action because of our favorite 4-letter word – FEAR. Often it’s the unknown that we fear but sometimes we fear the process of change it will take to get to the next level. Let’s face it –...
Ladies, I have an urgent message for you – STOP PLAYING SMALL! You were meant for greatness and NOW is your time to go after it. One of the most important things that was instilled in me by my parents is that I could be and do anything I wanted . . . I just had to believe in myself and be a hard worker. I will say that those two messages instilled in me the confidence and the work ethic that I believe is responsible for my success and happiness in life. Now I have a daughter of my own and I am doing everything I can to empower her in the same way.
But I know it’s not easy. The truth is as we grow our life experiences, our failures, criticism we receive from others, our own negative self-talk, along with the real-life pressure of life, like needing make ends meet and taking care of a family, can cause us to shrink, to shy away from our big dreams, to settle for less than what we truly want, and ultimately to get STUCK on auto pilot.
So let me...

When it comes to your LIFE - knowing your “why” is an important first step to create a life that excites you. So why do so many successful women struggle to find clarity in their lives?
First you must understand that clarity is something that you seek – it is not just something you have. Clarity is not a personality trait that some women were born with while others were not. Instead clarity comes when you search for new opportunities, explore new possibilities, ask questions, try new things, and commit to a continual process of trial and error.
